Craftsman 22114 Upgrades #1: First major upgrade - Delta 36-T30 T3 Fence

I’ve grown tired of the fence on my Craftsman 22114 saw. It never locks down right and it won’t stay parallel to the miter slots. I finally decided to upgrade it. After reading many reviews, and other blogs and forums here, I decided on the Delta T2 fence system. I purchased it at tools-plus.com for $199.00 shipped. It was delivered on time, and there was no damage to the parts inside the box, although they had shifted a little due to transit.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this upgrade. The fence was very easy to install, did not require any drilling, and required very little adjustment to get parallel. I was also able to set the measuring guide very easily after the first test cut.

I would highly recommend this to anyone.

First things first, I removed the old fence system and cleaned the top.

Then I unpacked, notice this is the T3 which now ships when you order the T2.

It was packed “ok”. There was some damage to the internal packing, I guess due to the weight shifting.

Then I laid out all the parts and pieces and compared against the manual.

Installed the front rail. No drilling required!

Installed the rear rail. No drilling required!

Installed the guide tube.

And done!

The entire upgrade took less than one hour to complete. I’ve got a few projects coming up in the next few weeks and I’ll really get to test this thing out!

Thanks for reading!

Jason
